“It’s only a matter of time” as “£60million-plus” star player set to join Chelsea in January

Chelsea have made some great signings so far and are still looking forward to strenghten some areas in January.

Meanwhile, Chelsea seemingly decided against making a late bid to sign West Ham midfielder Declan Rice this transfer window.

As reported by a number of sources at the time, Frank Lampard really wanted to sign Rice this window.

However, nothing transpired with The Blues possibly deciding against the high fee with West Ham determined to price the England international out of a move to Stamford Bridge, at least for now anyway.

Former West Ham left back Paul Konchesky believes “it’s only a matter of time” before Rice moves on and leaves The Hammers, and he says it will be for a fee of “£60million-plus” to get the club to finally release their star man.

Konchesky has been speaking to Caught Offside and believes that keeping Rice was massive for the club this window, and that keeping the 21-year old former Chelsea academy player will be like a new signing for them this season.

He said:

“I think it’s a massive plus that they kept Declan, it’s like a new signing.
