Jorginho sends ‘strong message’ to Lampard after dropping him lately

Chelsea vice-captain Jorginho has been linked with a summer exit amid interest from Juventus after falling down the pecking order since the restart of the Premier League.

With N’Golo Kante unavailable for the game against Crystal Palace on Tuesday, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard opted for Billy Gilmour over Jorginho.

Meanwhile, Jorginho has now admitted that he’s surprised with Lampard’s decision and that he doesn’t understand it.

“I don’t really understand it either. In fact, it’s [Lampard’s] choice, right?,” said Jorginho. “It’s the coach’s choice, which we need to accept and work hard to get back the opportunity to help the team, which is the most important thing.

“I’m doing my work, training hard, and I’ll be doing everything to be ready to give my contribution to the team in this path if they need me.”

Jorginho came on for the last ten minutes of the game against Watford, and his presence helped Chelsea dominate the middle of the park.
