Jose Mourinho pushing to sign Chelsea attacker

Jose Mourinho pushing to reunite with Chelsea star Willian at Tottenham Hotspur and has reportedly urged his club to make a move for the Chelsea star, according to Standard Sport.

Willian’s future at Chelsea is uncertain with six months remaining on his contract and the Brazilian winger is free to speak to overseas clubs over his availability.

Tottenham Hotspur are set to lose Christian Eriksen to Inter Milan this January and Mourinho is looking to bolster his attacking options by signing Willian. Barcelona, Juventus and AC Milan are also interested in signing the 31 year old Brazilian winger.

Despite the interest in Willian, the Brazilian’s preference is to stay at Chelsea. He is seeking a minimum two-year contract including a significant increase on his weekly wage of around £110,000-a-week but Chelsea are only willing to offer the Brazilian a one year deal.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has urged the club to pull out all the stops to keep Willian.

Lampard also insists Willian won’t leave the club in January despite interest from Tottenham.

Lampard said: “Willian is not going anywhere. We know his contract is up at the end of the season and he is in conversations with the club which is still ongoing. There’s no news on that. He is certainly our player.”
