Just In: Chelsea make transfer decision on midfielder Jorginho

According to The Telegraph, The Blues are open to letting midfielder Jorginho leave the club this summer despite his importance to Frank Lampard’s squad this season.

Jorginho joined Chelsea for £57 million from Napoli back in the summer of 2018 and could reunite with Maurizio Sarri at Juventus this summer.

The Blues are reportedly happy to sell Jorginho this summer due to the emergence of Billy Gilmour, who won the man of the match awards in Chelsea’s last two games over Liverpool and Everton.

Jorginho is already 28 and will turn 29 in December and the Blues believe this summer is the last transfer window to secure a good transfer fee for the Italian.

Despite Chelsea’s willingness to sell Jorginho this summer and raise funds for transfer, Lampard reportedly likes Jorginho due to his character and leadership qualities and reckons that having him around would be a good influence on the younger players.

Jorginho has a contract with the Blues until the summer of 2023.
