JUST IN: Chelsea player is back after missing games against Rennes and Sheffield United

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has received a huge boost ahead of Saturday’s Premier League game against Newcastle United.

Chelsea midfielder Kai Havertz is expected to be available for selection against Newcastle United after undergoing a period of self-isolation after testing positive for Covid-19.

The German international missed Chelsea’s Champions League victory over Rennes and the victory over Sheffield United before the international break.

As per the coronavirus protocol, Havertz was required to self-isolate for at least 10 days and that period has already been completed.

Therefore, as long as he doesn’t test positive again, he can resume training with his Chelsea teammates this week and will be in contention for the game at St James’ Park.
