Just In: Frank lampard wants new goalkeeper in summer as Chelsea set to sell Kepa

Kepa Arizzabalaga could find himself on the bench for the rest of the season and exit Chelsea in the summer, According to The Sun.

The latest report from the British tabloid claims Frank Lampard demands to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer. Until then, Willy Caballero will reportedly take the place between the posts.

We all know stranger things have happened but the report does not look too trustworthy so far. First of all, even if Lampard really plans to make Caballero his first-choice stopper, he will still have to turn to Kepa if the Argentinian gets injured.

Secondly, with Chelsea doing relatively well in the top four race (although all of us would not mind seeing the Blues a bit higher in the table), there is hardly any need for radical solutions. Besides, Caballero also has to prove himself first.

However, it’s obvious Kepa needs to improve. He has come under fire after a series of questionable displays in goal. The Spaniard has conceded 32 goals in 24 Premier League games since the start of the season.

Meanwhile, Willy Caballero is ready to embrace the challenge. Speaking to Chelseafc.com, he said: “As a goalkeeper, I have to switch on very quickly and be ready for this opportunity because I’ve been working and training really hard for it.

“I feel great because I played and we got one point in a difficult stadium against a difficult team.”
