Juventus are offering Chelsea one player as a part of Jorginho swap, the Blues are considering

According to reports, Chelsea will be offered a player by Serie A giants Juventus in a swap deal for their current midfielder Jorginho.

Jorginho has been a pivotal part of Lampard’s squad, and has established himself as a fan favorite at Stamford Bridge. The Chelsea boss made him the team’s vice-captain at the start of the season, praising his ability to control games. But the Italian has been linked to a move back to his country in the coming transfer window.

Juventus are interested in the Italian midfielder, and The Daily Mail suggests that an offer will soon be arriving from the Serie A side involving a straight swap deal.

The report states that Juventus are considering offering their winger Douglas Costa in a straight swap for the Italian international. Douglas Costa was signed by the Italian giants following his initial loan move from Bayern, but his stint with the club has been underwhelming.

And Juventus are ready to offload him and bring in Jorginho at the club, to add competition to Aaron Ramsey and Rodrigo Bentancur, amid the transfer speculations of Adrien Rabiot moving on from the Bianconeri.

Blues although are highly unlikely to sanction this offer for two reasons – firstly Jorginho is an important part of their squad as the midfielder has stamped his authority with them this season, with more passes than anyone in the league along with his defensive attributes. The versatile midfielder will be too costly to loose for the London outfit.

Secondly, they won’t be opting for Costa, as the former Shakhtar player turns 30 in September. Despite the possibility of Willian and Pedro’s departure from the club, Frank Lampard will be content with his wing options, especially with the arrival of Hakim Ziyech.

Lampard definitely prefers Jorginho, and along with the former Napoli player’s performances at the club, it is highly unlikely that this transfer will materialize. But never say never in football.
