Kai Havertz reveals his best position ahead of Liverpool clash

Chelsea star signing Kai Havertz didn’t have a good debut game in the 3-1 win over Brighton.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard went for an advanced midfield trio of Kai Havertz, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount in that game, with Havertz playing on the right wing.

Havertz looked out of sorts in that game as he could not cope with the tempo, and many believed that the German international was played out of position.

However, the 21-year-old has now revealed that he can play on the right side of midfield, although his best playing position is as a No. 10.

Speaking about his preferred position on the pitch, Havertz sad: “I played I think every offensive position at Leverkusen. I played as a right winger, as a No.10, as a No.6, No.8 and sometimes as a striker as well.

“But for more it’s very important to have that flexibility on the pitch and to be creative, that’s something I like. I think I can play many positions.

“Of course, for me my best position is as a No.10, but of course I can play on the right side or as a striker as well. To be honest I’m happy to stay on the pitch. I think I’m flexible.”
