Kovacic explain why Chelsea is struggling under Frank Lampard

Chelsea are in to the fifth round of the FA Cup after beating Hull City 2-1, it was another familiar tale for Chelsea under Frank Lampard this season.

The Blues had lots of chances but failed to take their opportunities, before a Kamil Grosick’s deflected free-kick beat Willy Caballero into the Chelsea net.

The goal changed the context of the game as Chelsea became uncomfortable until the end of the game.

However, Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic who had a good game against the Tigers has now revealed that Chelsea’s biggest problem this season is killing off teams by scoring goals.

“It was a tough game, as we knew that it would be, but we need to score in the first half two more goals,” the 25-year-old said.

“That’s our problem in this moment but obviously we’re happy to go through.

“It was because we didn’t score on time – we had some chances and we didn’t use them. In training, we are working on it but we are still a young team, a new team, and we need to improve a lot. We need to take our chances, which in this moment we are not doing great, but we have time to improve and I am sure we will do.”
