Lampard makes final decision on Jorginho’s future at Chelsea after dropping him against Watford

The decision certainly got Chelsea fans talking and many are unsure of what the future holds for the 28-year-old in west London.

However, Lampard made things perfectly clear when discussing his vice-captain and Kante in his post-match press conference.

“Jorginho is in my plans,” stated the club’s record goalscorer. “With N’Golo Kante, he has got a small hamstring which he will have a scan on tomorrow to see how bad it is.

“Like I say, it is small and we hope it is small. That’s what I have been told so far.

“After the scan tomorrow, we will know, I am guessing it will be a problem for Palace on Tuesday.”

Kante’s likely absence against Crystal Palace may open the door for Jorginho to come back in at Selhurst Park and all eyes will be on the teamsheet to see if he gets his chance in the side.

The issue in regards to the 2018 summer signing as opposed to all Chelsea’s other midfielders is that he’s not exactly versatile as he only ever plays as a holding midfielder.

However, Jorginho has consistently been linked with a return to Italy during his two years in London, most notably a move to Juventus to link up with Sarri once again following their successful time together in Naples.
