Frank Lampard reveals Ruben Loftus-Cheek won’t be available for Chelsea’s Monday game against Man United.
“Ruben won’t be fit for this game,” the boss said, providing his latest injury update on the 24-year-old midfielder.
However, the Cheek hasn’t kicked a ball for Lampard’s side this season, having been on the sidelines ever since suffering a long-term Achilles injury back in May of last year.
The 24-year-old recently played 60 minutes in a behind-closed-doors friendly for the Blues’ academy side against Brentford B and is hoping to use the winter break to work on his fitness.
However, he is unlikely to be fast-tracked back into action immediately after the winter break, as that could lead to a risk of a recurrence.
