Lampard told details of release clause that would allow Chelsea to land Bundesliga powerhouse for €75 million

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea may be able to sign Erling Haaland for just €75 million in 2022

Haaland became one of the hottest properties in European football at Red Bull Salzburg in the first half of the season, and The 19-year-old hit 28 goals in 22 matches across all competitions for the Austrian outfit.

That earned him a mega money move to Dortmund, where he has scored 16 goals in his first 18 outings for the German side, with his performances or the club firmly establishing him as one of the best in the game right now.

He has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United, but it seems that Chelsea are ready to flex their financial power at the end of the season and make a move for the striker.

Lampard spent over £230million bolstering his squad during this summer’s transfer window, as He poached Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen and Hakim Ziyech from Ajax.

But it has been claimed that Lampard sees Haaland as the final piece of the puzzle for Chelsea and is preparing to make a move at the end of the season, but they will now have a massive battle on their hands.

Romano has claimed that Dortmund do not want to sell their key man in 2021 and will fight to keep the striker, but he has told Chelsea that Haaland has a release clause in his contract that they may be able to activate in the summer of 2022

He Tweeted: “Erling Haaland release clause will be valid by June *2022* for €75m, Borussia Dortmund board are in love with Haaland and hope to keep him also on next summer – for sure, they have no intention of selling Erling for €75m on 2021… ?? #Haaland”

If Romano is right and Chelsea can seal a deal for Haaland for an absolute bargain, then they should definitely make a transfer move as the forward has the ability to go on and become one of the very best strikers in world football.
