Lampard told Olivier Giroud to forget about leaving Chelsea in January if this happens

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is keen on leaving Chelsea in January in search of more playing time as he is currently behind Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi in pecking order at the club.

Giroud has been linked with Italian clubs AC Milan and Inter Milan as well as Premier League side Crystal Palace.

Giroud has been told to forget about leaving Chelsea in January if the transfer ban is upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

This is according to former Blues defender Jason Cundy who believes no one will be allowed to leave the club in January if the transfer ban is upheld.

Speaking on Chelsea TV after the 2-1 win over Aston Villa, Cundy said: “There are rumours that Giroud may well be on his way in January.

“I am not sure how true it is going to be if the transfer ban is upheld. It is difficult to see anyone leaving then.”

Meanwhile, Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has criticised Tammy Abraham for his decision not to celebrate his goal against Aston Villa.

Abraham spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, scoring 26 goals to help the Birmingham side gain promotion to the Premier League, which made him a favourite among the Villa fans.
