Lampard urged to complete Chelsea move and bring creative midfielder to the Bridge

Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink has urged Chelsea to add another creative midfielder to the squad.

Chelsea have plugged defensive leaks of late, with Edouard Mendy impressing as their new No.1, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell both coming in and adding some much needed quality to that back-line that they have.

Goals are never going to be a problem with the likes of Timo Werner, Tammy Abrahmam, Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Kai Havertz around, as many are not tipping this Chelsea squad to mount a serious challenge for that Premier League title.

But Hasselbaink believes greater depth could also be added in that department, and ahead of the January transfer window, he has urged the club to add another creative midfielder to the squad, The Dutchman was quoted on the Daily Mirror: “I would also like to see another creative midfielder.

“I like Mason Mount, but maybe somebody to play alongside him.

“Havertz is there, I know, but you want healthy, quality competition in that area. I don’t think Chelsea are far off at all.”

Lampard spent some serious money in the transfer window signing some top-level players, but if he is going to add to his squad in the coming window, then he needs to add a new defender that would succeed Silva.

He already has a number of players in the side that are massively creative and that can play in numerous positions, so adding another one does not make sense as it could cause some upset in the squad. We believe that the biggest teams should have alot of options in attack, but at the end of the day, how many creative players are needed? Chelsea already have enough.
