Lewandowski opens up and has Timo Werner message for Chelsea fans ahead of possible summer deal

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has listed reported Liverpool target Timo Werner as one of the best strikers in the world.

Despite the fact that the Premier League season has been stopped, there has been alot of transfer speculation in the media suggesting that Chelsea could make a summer move and acquire the services of Werner.

Werner has developed over the last few seasons into one of the most clinical finishers in the game and has constantly admitted that he is seeking a move away from the Bundesliga in the coming seasons, with Chelsea linked.

Liverpool may be favourites to win the race for Werner, but Chelsea are a side that need to spend some money and try to bring in a new striker to partner Tammy Abraham for next season, and Werner is seen as that man.

But away from the transfer speculation, another Bundesliga striker Lewandowski has opened up on the brilliance of Werner, when he was asked by an international panel who he thought were the top five strikers in the world at the moment.

“A difficult question,” said Lewandowski, quoted by the Daily Star. “If we talk about the nine (classic centre forward), I would say: Karim Benzema, Timo Werner, Luis Suarez, Sergio Agüero and Kylian Mbappé.”

We have said it once before and we will say it again, Werner is one of the best strikers in the world right now and if there is even a little chance that Chelsea can complete a deal for this man, they should. He has pace, power, quality and can score goals on a weekly basis, things that Lampard needs to add to his Chelsea attack if he is to get this side back into the habit of winning big titles on a yearly basis.

Will Werner come to England? We dont know, all we know is that Chelsea would be foolish not to make a move for a man that has the ability and quality to go on and be the best striker in the world, not just one of the best.
