Liverpool vs Chelsea: Michael Owen predicts the score line

Michael Owen has a knack for predicting against Chelsea in the big games, but since wrongly predicting a 1-0 defeat against Atletico Madrid, which happened the other way round, the former Liverpool and Manchester United striker is now less keen on betting against the Blues.

Owen got his last Chelsea prediction right, as he predicted a goalless draw in that game.

Ahead of Thursday’s game at Anfield, Owen is predicting a 1-1 draw, and he believes that Chelsea may hurt Jurgen Klopp’s side on the break, if they find the space.

Owen said in his prediction for BetVictor: “This one is arguably the pick of the midweek matches. Back at Anfield, Liverpool will be desperate to get on track after a string of poor results on home soil.

“They welcome a Chelsea side that will no doubt be cautious. If Thomas Tuchel sets up to play on the counter, I could see them causing Liverpool problems. However, if there’s one thing missing from this Chelsea side it’s a recognised number nine.

“With that in mind, I think this one will be tight. It’s a 1-1 draw for me.”
