Maurizio Sarri: I deserve to stay at Chelsea

Maurizio Sarri has spoken of his chances to remain at the helm of Chelsea after the Blues have won the Europa League final.

The Italian manager’s team battered Arsenal 4-1 and surely had a positive effect on his odds to remain in charge.

But he has refused to say directly that he will stay at Chelsea.
“Now I have to speak to my club. The season finished an hour ago. Tomorrow I will speak to owner, director, I don’t know.

“We need to know what the club can do for me, what I can do better for the club. The club need to speak to me as well. I have a contact, so at the moment we are talking about nothing.

“You know very well that I love the Premier League, I am lucky I am at Chelsea. One of the best teams, in one of the best championships in the world.

“I am happy, I want to know if the club are happy with me. I speak to the owner, director after every season with every club. It is normal.”

When asked if he himself thought he deserves to continue his work at Chelsea, Sarri answered in the affirmative.
“I think so, but it is only my opinion. My opinion is not enough.”
