Mendy sends ‘massive message’ to Chelsea fans after suffering injury on international duty

Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy suffered a hamstring strain in training with Senegal earlier this week and has returned to Chelsea’s Cobham training ground to receive treatment.

The 28 year old Senegalese international is now a doubt for Chelsea’s Premier League game against Southampton on October 17.

Mendy insists he is doing everything possible to return to action in time for the game against Southampton at Stamford Bridge.

In a message to Chelsea fans on Instagram, he wrote: “Little hitch, I’m going to do everything I can to come back faster and stronger. Thank you all for your messages.”

Mendy joined Chelsea from Rennes last month and has replaced Kepa Arrizabalaga as Chelsea’s first choice goalkeeper.
