‘Next stop Chelsea’ as Lampard told ‘there is no chance’ £250,000-a-week midfielder is staying in Bundesliga

German football expert Patrick Strasser has told Chelsea there is no chance Bayern Munich will sign Chelsea target Philippe Coutinho permanently this summer.

There has been alot of speculation in the media suggesting that Bayern may actually decide to sign Coutinho on a permanent deal in the coming weeks if they feel that he can add something to the side long-term.

There are a few games left in the Bundesliga season and Bayern, even though have hinted that they will not sign Coutinho, are still leading the chase ahead of Chelsea simply because they have an agreement with Barcelona.

But Chelsea have been handed another boost after being told that the German will not sign up the Brazilian: “He’s not the right player that coach Hansi Flick wants to have because he’s playing as a proper No.10 – a playmaker you would say,” Strasser told the Weekend Sports Breakfast.

“Bayern play with [Robert] Lewandowski up front and two strong wingers in [Kingsley] Coman and Serge Gnabry. “There’s no spot in the first team for Coutinho as Thomas Muller is in the first team too – one of the key players of Bayern for ten or more years.

“They will not buy Coutinho for sure because he will cost too much but he hasn’t really been that good. “There’s been matches when he has shown his quality but he hasn’t really adapted to Bayern and especially life at Bayern.

“He probably knew he would only be here for a year but he probably thought he would move to the Premier League after. “Nobody thought Coutinho would be a long term stay.”

Coutinho to Chelsea is a move that many fans would love to see and when he officially leaves Bayern, heads back to Barca and they tells him he is no longer needed, Chelsea will be able to complete a deal. However, they should not pay too much money as the Brazilian needs to reignite his career and get back to the man that was so exciting to watch during his days with Liverpool in the Premier League.
