Ousmane Dembele makes Chelsea transfer decision

Despite failing to impress since his big money move to Barcelona, French winger Ousmane Dembele is a man in demand at the moment.

According to reports, Chelsea and Premier League rivals Manchester United are keen on signing the winger who has just 18 months left on his Barcelona contract.

Barcelona are eager to avoid losing him for free in a year’s time, when he will be eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign side and are prepared to sell him this summer if he doesn’t extend his contract.

According to Spanish media outlet Sport, Dembele is said to be happy in Catalunya and is in no rush to move away, pouring doubt over the chances of him moving to England.

He has apparently told Nou Camp chiefs that he wants to sign a new contract amid heavy speculation over his future.

However, it is claimed he will wait for the results of the Barcelona presidential elections on March 7 before extending his Barcelona contract.

Dembele has started just eight La Liga games so far this campaign, scoring twice and registering an assist.

He’s had more success in the Champions League, however, having scored three times and provided two assists in four games.
