Perfect Players For Lampard? Chelsea considers January move for PSG midfield pair

Chelsea head-coach Frank Lampard is interested in securing the services of Paris Saint-Germain duo Julian Draxler and Idrissa Gueye.

The blues are primarily targeting former Schalke midfielder Draxler, however, the West London club are also keeping tabs on former Everton anchorman Gueye, and they may be tempted to make a bid for his signature this month. Chelsea weren’t expecting to do any business this winter, having been landed with a 12-month transfer ban, however, it has been reduced to just six months and now Frank Lampard’s side are capable to make additions.

After a disappointing downturn in form, the Blues supporters will be hoping to see some movement in the transfer window. The PSG duo are thought to be high on the Blues shortlist of potential deals, according to Le10Sport.

However, Draxler has been rumoured with a move away from Ligue 1 giants PSG for a number of months, with EPL clubs reportedly leading the chase. The Blues have been heavily tipped to secure the services of Draxler next month, with the Germany international struggling to string a series of games together in the French capital.

Draxler missed almost two months of the current campaign from the middle of August, after picking up a foot injury. and if Chelsea do business with PSG they are likely to have pay around £32million to lure Draxler.

Draxler has managed to found back of the net 30 times for Schalke in 170 games, while also providing 29 assists and since then he has struggled to return to his best form.

Meanwhile, Gueye is far less likely to depart from PSG in January having only made a £27m switch in the summer. He’s been a big transfer success story for PSG, having impressed since making his debut for Tuchel’s side.
