Cesc Fabregas has been allowed to join Ligue 1 club Monaco, this is according to emerging reports.

Fabregas has been reduced to bit-part at Chelsea since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri in the summer and he has decided to call time on his spell with the West London club.

Although he is said to be on the transfer radar of AC Milan, the Spanish midfielder prefers to link up with former team mate Thierry Henry, who now manages Monaco.

Monaco are battling relegation, and Henry is employing all he can to save the club. They are currently 19th on the Log and four points of safety.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedula took to Twitter and he has claimed that Sarri has given Fabregas the nod to seal a move to Monaco.

“#Fabregas has the green light of #Sarri: ready to fly to France for signing with #Monaco” He wrote on Twitter:

Chelsea play Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, it could be the final game of the Spaniard, who has admitted that he is open to sealing a transfer away from Chelsea.

“I’m very open about it,” Fabregas said.

“To be the honest the club has not said anything.
