Predicted Chelsea lineup (4-2-3-1) to face Leicester City, Kante and Rudiger start

The Blues have the opportunity to secure their first victory under manager Frank Lampard when they face Leicester City in their opening home game of the Premier League season.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Lineup:

Kepa was sublime with his showing between the sticks against Liverpool in midweek but the Blues were still unable to land the European Super Cup after a narrow penalty shoot-out loss. The Spaniard will certainly start in goal.

In the defence, a solitary change could be made with Andreas Christensen, who had suffered a knock in midweek being replaced from the starting XI. We are anticipating a maiden appearance of the season for fan favourite Antonio Rudiger following extended absence due to a knee problem.

In the midfield, Lampard does not receive additional security when compared to the Reds and he may drop a central midfielder against the Foxes. We are anticipating Jorginho and N’Golo Kante to fill the slots with the latter in particular putting up a stellar showing in Istanbul.

Further forward, Christian Pulisic and Pedro are bound to feature on the left and right side of the attack after impressing at the Vodafone Arena, though we are anticipating another attacker to accompany them. Mason Mount should get the nod for the number 10 spot ahead of Ross Barkley after his good cameo against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Upfront, Olivier Giroud deserves to begin the game after finding the opening goal in the Super Cup. The Frenchman has strong attributes in terms of holding the ball and linking up play, and should prove a handful for the Foxes defence.
