Pulisic sends ‘massive message’ to Frank Lampard over his fitness ahead of Man Utd clash

Chelsea star Christian Pulisic missed the start of the season due to injury. The American star got injured in the FA Cup final against Arsenal last season, and made a gradual return to the team.

Pulisic made his comeback appearance in the 4-0 win against Crystal Palace, and made his first start in the 3-3 draw against Southampton, before getting another start against Sevilla.

Pulisic has now revealed that he’s getting back to full fitness, and is almost back to his former fitness level where he can last a whole match.

“Fitness-wise I feel great, I’m getting back to where I was, I feel strong, I feel like I can play 90 minutes,” he said. “So yeah, I’m happy.”

Pulisic started the Champions League game against Sevilla and was subbed off late in the game. He has revealed how difficult that game was.

He said: “It was definitely a tough game, it was definitely kind of one of those where there were not a lot of chances in the game. We did a lot of good defending and we can walk away proud with a point today.

“It’s a strong team absolutely, they definitely put us to the test, moved the ball really well we definitely defended a lot today and we are going to continue to work to improve as a team.

“It’s everyone’s job to be behind the ball at times we have to help out defensively and I think it will give us some confidence today going away from the game with a clean sheet is not all bad. I think it’s not bad for the guys.

“That’s the goal we’ve got to find the balance. Obviously we’ve got to create more chances and I want to help with that. We’ve got to find a way to do both.”
