Rangers are reportedly interested in securing the services of Chelsea talented midfielder Billy Gilmour on loan when the transfer window will be re-opened in January.

Gilmour could face a battle to secure regular first-team football under Frank Lampard this campaign, though, and according to The Scottish Sun, Rangers are planning to offer a loan move to Chelsea ace.

The report suggests that a move to Steven Gerrard’s team in the middle of the season could help him secure a spot in the Scotland national team for the next summer’s European Championships.

Gilmour player for Rangers between 2009 and 2017 before making a move to Chelsea, where he has played 13 first-team games since making his breakthrough in 2019-20.

Chelsea head-coach Frank Lampard hailed the teenager following his form against Krasnodar on Tuesday night and also took part in Saturday clash against Everton come from the bench in 1-0 defeat.
