Real Madrid set to hijack Chelsea move for Bundesliga No.11 forward

The European giant Real Madrid are reportedly considering making a £68m move for prolific RB Leipzig and Germany striker Timo Werner.

The Leipzig striker has scored 24 goals in 29 games for club and country this season and he has regularly been linked with Premier League move.

Chelsea have been keeping tabs on the German forward since the last summer and after their transfer ban lifted interest has been increased in his signature from the Blues, while Liverpool also eyeing a move for his services.

However, El Desmarque claims that the Los Blancos head-coach Zinedine Zidane is eyeing up a summer move for the forward as he looks to add more strength to his offensive end.

The ex-Stuttgart forward recently has signed a bumper new deal with the German outfits, however, the report claims that the sort of bid for Spanish giants are planning would be enough to encourage them to sell one of their prized assets.

Real Madrid boss, Zidane is already believed to be frustrated with the poor form of Luka Jovic, who has struggled for life at Spain capital since joining from Eintracht Frankfurt last year and signing Werner could help him to provide a perfect backup option to French forward Karim Benzema.

However, the blues still have the chance to sign the German striker and loan him back for the rest of the season. More news to follow, stay tuned on Chelsea247.com for your latest transfer news.
