REPORT: Chelsea identified £90K a-week Premier League star as a cheaper alternative to Chilwell

According to reports, Everton full-back Lucas Digne has reportedly been identified as a potential transfer target by Man City and Chelsea.

In recent weeks, both teams have been rumoured with an approach for Leicester City star Ben Chilwell, who is believed to be valued in excess of £70m.

However, given the financial implications from the coronavirus pandemic, it appears that the English giants are prepared to look a cheaper alternative.

According to ESPN, former Barcelona defender Lucas Digne has been placed on their respective shortlists during the summer transfer window.

Since making a move to Goodison Park for £18m, the 26-year-old Frenchman has managed to found back of the net five times and provided 12 assists from 70 games in all competitions.

Chelsea have been active during the current transfer window as they have managed to secure services of one of the best-attacking players in Europe at the moment Hakim Zyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

The Transfer window will open in 25th July in the Premier League and more is expected to come from the Blues as Frank Lampard plans to build a team capable to challenge for the PL trophy.
