REPORT: Chelsea open up to sell struggling £150,000 a-week Chelsea star to drum up interest from other clubs

According to ESPN, Chelsea are unable to attract potential suitors for Kepa Arrizabalaga,

As per the report, the Blues’ manager Frank Lampard is open to selling the Basque keeper after dropping him out of the starting XI for six games in January and February.

Intermediaries have been probing Europe’s biggest clubs in case they would be interested in an opportunity to sign the 25-year-old but haven’t found much appetite anywhere.

As Willy Caballero is set to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season as a free agent, Chelsea are now increasingly considering an option of signing another senior shot-stopper to compete with the Spain international.

Earlier, Chelsea have been linked with some keepers from the Premier League (like Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope or Dean Henderson) as well as from abroad (Andre Onana, Gianluigi Donnarumma and even Manuel Neuer).

It’s understood, however, that Kepa intends to fight for his future at Chelsea even though he faces the possibility of toughened competition for the No.1 role in the next season. Moreover, he’s reportedly been assured by some figures in the club hierarchy that he has a future at Stamford Bridge even if another keeper arrives.

After spending almost a month on the bench, Kepa had reclaimed the No.1 spot shortly before the football went on hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.
