According to reports, Chelsea are closing in on signing Leicester city’s defender, Ben Chilwell this summer. The England international’s transfer to Chelsea is in the very final stages.
His Medicals have been set to go ahead on Tuesday, with the deal expected to be finalised by this time next week. His transfer Fee is set to be in the region of £70million after additional fees and bonuses.
Chilwell has been Frank Lampard’s first choice in Chelsea’s search for a new left-back and it is understood that Chelsea have an agreement with Leicester and the deal is said to be confirmed later next week.
Leicester city had been holding out for a fee of £80million that Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire in 2019 and reports have it that Chelsea are closing in on signing the England international.
The 23-year-old defender is understood to be keen on the move to chelsea so as to play Champions League football with the Blues next season.
However, Chelsea have signed both Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner for a combined sum of £86million, while Kai Havertz is set to arrive from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal that could cost up to £90m.
