According to reports, Chelsea are preparing to sign Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng on a free transfer next summer.
The Blues face competition for the signing of the 32 year old defender from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
According to German media outlet Sport Bild, Bayern Munich have decided not to renew Boateng’s deal, which means the defender will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Boateng joined Bayern Munich 2011 and has helped the club win eight Bundesliga titles and two Champions League trophies.
