REPORTS: Lampard will force star to quit Chelsea this summer

Emerson Palmieri wants to quit Chelsea this summer because of Frank Lampard’s management style, according to the Italian media.

The 25-year-old left-back has made 18 appearances this season, but he has not featured in the last five Premier League games, only making the bench once. Instead Lampard has preferred Marcos Alonso on the left side of his defence with the 25-year-old left kicking his heels in the stands.

The Italian, who is under contract until 2022, is frustrated with his situation and now Tuttosport report that Emerson views Lampard as a ‘sergeant’ and is unhappy with Lampard’s level of control over his players.

Italy boss says Roberto Mancini says Emerson should leave Chelsea if he wants to give himself the best chance of playing at Euro 2020 next summer.

“Luca Pellegrini already spent time with the senior squad and can improve. It would be nice if Emerson Palmieri, who hasn’t played much for Chelsea, could come and play in Italy,” said Mancini recently. Emerson has long been linked with a return to Italy, where he used to play for Palermo and then Roma, from whom Chelsea signed him in January 2018.

The €30m-rated left-back is tipped to reunite with Maurizio Sarri at Juventus, who only have Alex Sandro as a recognised, senior option in the position until Luca Pellegrini returns from his loan spell at Cagliari in the summer.

Inter Milan are also said to be interested in the Brazilian-born defender with Antonio Conte interested in re-signing the player he managed in England.

His agent, Luis Fernando Garcia, recently told Juvenews: “We know very well about Juventus’ interest but also about Inter. So far there has been no talk of a transfer with Chelsea, nor has there been any official offer. “I believe that until May there will be no official offers from the two clubs. In the summer we will decide what to do.”
