Reports: PSG respond to Chelsea’s interest in signing Cavani

Frank Lampard is keen on signing a striker this January and the Blues have been linked with a move for PSG striker Edison Cavani.

Cavani has started just four games in Ligue 1 this season and is eager to find a new club this month.

Chelsea aren’t the only club interested in signing Cavani. Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal have also been linked with the Uruguayan striker. Atletico Madrid are also interested.

According to a report on Metro, PSG aren’t willing to sell Cavani in January. Cavani’s contract will expire at the end of the season and PSG are reportedly unconcerned about losing him on a free transfer this summer.

PSG want Cavani to stay and help them fight for silverware on multiple fronts in the second half of the campaign.

Mauro Icardi has displaced Cavani from the starting eleven, but the Uruguayan has still managed to score five times in 12 appearances this season.

Cavani has scored 198 goals in 291 appearances for the French side.
