REPORTS: Willian ‘rejects 2-year contract offer from Chelsea’ as he wants to stay for longer

According to Brazilian outlet UOL, Willian has rejected Chelsea’s latest offer of a two-year extension with the club as the winger would like to stay for at least three years.

Thus, the 31-year-old has started to consider offers from other clubs. As per the source, the attacker’s desire is to stay in Europe, with some sides, including ones from the Premier League, already expressing a certain interest in his services.

Willian could leave Chelsea for free next summer, with his contract set to expire on 30 June 2020.

At the moment, the Brazilian is one of the longest-serving players in the Blues squad. Only captain Cesar Azpilicueta and injured Marco van Ginkel have been part of the club for a longer time.

Willian arrived at Stamford Bridge back in August 2013 on a £30m move from Anzhi Makhachkala.

The current campaign is Willian’s 7th with Chelsea. All in all, the 31-year-old has scored 58 goals and registered 58 assists in his 328 appearances for the Blues.

This term, the winger has scored 6 goals and provided 5 assists in 36 games across all competitions so far.
