Revealed: Why Chelsea secretly agreed €40million deal for brilliant winger

Chelsea agreed a €40 million deal with Ajax in February to sign Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech, with the 27 year old set to join Chelsea at the end of the season.

Ziyech was signed by the club to boost our creativity and his stats from his time at Ajax proves Chelsea boss Frank Lampard made the right decision to sign the winger.

Chelsea have often struggled to break down stubborn defences in the Premier League this season and it is believed the Moroccan international can help solve this problem.

Ziyech has scored a staggering 48 goals and provided 82 assists in 165 appearances for Ajax since he joined from Twente back in 2016.

According to whoscored, Ziyech has racked up 6 goals and 12 assists in 21 Eredivisie outings this season so far, averaging an eye-watering 3.7 key passes, 4.2 shots, 2.6 dribbles, 2.3 crosses and 3.9 long balls per game.

Ziyech is also a player for the big stage with the Moroccan international scoring 2 goals and providing 4 assists in 6 UCL appearances this season, averaging 3.2 shots, 2.5 key passes, 2.2 dribbles,1.2 crosses and 2.5 long balls per game.

He has made a total of 17 Champion League appearances for Ajax, scoring 5 goals and providing 7 assists.
