Revealed: Why Pulisic was replaced in the starting XI against Burnley minutes before kickoff
Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic missed Chelsea’s Premier League victory over Burnley after suffering an injury in the warm-up.
The American international was named in the starting XI for the game against Burnley but then had to be replaced by Timo Werner after he picked up a knock in the warm-up.
With Werner, who was initially named on the bench, replacing Pulisic, young Chelsea goalkeeper Karlo Ziger was then named as one of Chelsea’s substitutes.
The Blues beat Burnley 3-0 at Turf Moor to move up to fourth in the Premier League table. Hakim Ziyech, Kurt Zouma and Timo Werner were the goalscorers.
