REVEALED: Why Willian was dropped out against Wolves clash

Chelsea winger Willian has been in superb form since the season restarted with four goals and three assists in 10 appearances but the Brazilian failed to make the matchday squad for the game against Wolves.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard confirme Willian missed Chelsea’s final Premier League game of the season against Wolves due to injury.

“Willian is injured, so I’ve had to adjust,” Lampard told Sky Sports before Chelsea’s clash with Wolves.

“Christian [Pulisic] comes into the team [but] he would’ve played anyway the way he’s playing, he’s come off the back of his injury.”

In a post on Instagram shortly before the game, Willian wrote: “I did treatment until the last minute to be able to be in the field, but this time, unfortunately, it will not be possible.

“I will be at Stamford Bridge supporting my teammates. Come on Chelsea!”
