Roman Abramovich makes transfer decision on Declan Rice move to Chelsea

According to reports, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is a huge admirer of West Ham midfielder Declan Rice and is keen on bringing the midfielder back to Chelsea.

Chelsea have spent around £250million on new signings this summer, with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich backing Lampard in the transfer market.

Despite the huge money spent this summer, question marks were raised about Chelsea’s defensive capabilities after they drew 3-3 at West Brom and Lampard reportedly believes Rice will help protect Chelsea’s defence.

His versatility in being able to play in defence as well as the holding midfield role also makes him an attractive proposition for Lampard.

According to Daily Express, Abramovich is ready to back Lampard in his pursuit of West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

The report claims Chelsea will submit an official bid for Rice this week. West Ham reportedly value the midfielder at around £80 million.
