“Soon-to-be-released”- veteran player could seal shock move to Chelsea

According to reports, Thiago Silva has been offered to Premier Leauge giants Chelsea ahead of his exit from Paris Saint-Germain.

The centre-half will make his final appearances for the Parisians in the Champions League this weekend, but will then turn his attentions to securing a new team.

Silva has been linked with a move to Arsenal following a phonecall from Mikel Arteta, but the Telegraph state Chelsea have emerged as candidates for his signature.

Frank Lampard is poised to improve his defensive options this summer and has been given the chance to bring Thiago to the Premier League.

Silva is keen on a move to Premier League and is ready to take a pay cut on the £1.3 million he earns a year at PSG.

The South American turns 36 in September but insisted he is keen to finish his playing career in Europe rather than return to Brazil to see out his final years.
