Terry and Tammy help Aston Villa to Premier League, as Lampard remains in Championship

Aston Villa have made it to the Premier League after beating Derby County 2-1 in the promotion final.

Chelsea’s on loan striker Tammy Abraham was part of the success as Villans return to the elite tier after a three-year absence.

Villa quite confidently netted two goals after an hour-mark but the Rams then returned into action after Martyn Waghorn pulled one back with 10 minutes to go.

John Terry has been helping the head coach Dean Smith on the touchlines. Unfortunately for Derby County boss Frank Lampard, it was either him or the Blues from Villa Park to enter the Premier League.

Ashley Cole, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori have also spent this term at Derby. An ultra successful Chelsea youth coach Jody Morris has been Lampard’s assistant.

Abraham has netted 26 goals with Villa although he didn’t leave his mark in the final game.

It’s more than he expected. He still looks to make it at Chelsea.
