The story behind Chelsea wonderkid Mason Mount’s unique goal celebration vs Everton

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount was on target for Chelsea in their brilliant 4-0 win over Everton at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon, and debuted a unique celebration for home supporters. Mason Mount had an afternoon to remember as Chelsea thumped Everton 4-0 on Sunday.

The attacking midfielder, who enjoyed a stunning start to the season with five goals and two assists in the opening 15 games of the new campaign, has been experiencing a dip in form.

Mount broke the deadlock with a sweetly struck effort which caught Jordan Pickford out at his near post to bring about his first Premier League goal since the 2-1 home win over Aston Villa all the way back in December. Unsurprisingly the 21-year-old’s celebration was mixed with sheer joy as well as relief.

In addition, he debuted a little dance for the home supporters and took to Twitter to explain his new moves.

“Had to pull out the Frankenstein,” Mount posted on social media in a message to @Chunkz_EN .

Mount was partnered in central midfield by Ross Barkley and Billy Gilmour against Everton, and Lampard was pleased with the balance.

“I’m not trying to be anyone but look at how Man City play it with offensive No8s working off the ball,” he said in his post-match press conference . “I’m not going to lie and say, not concerns, but you’re very aware that when you play two players who could be No10s, they have a lot more work to do off the ball.
