The Two Deals Chelsea Expect To Complete Before The End Of The January Transfer Window

Since the opening of the January transfer window, Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund, although the American will only move to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

Chelsea have been active in the transfer window as regards player signing and exit, and two signings might happen for the Blues this window as well as two exits.

Within the next 24 hours, Chelsea are expected to announce the signing of Gonzalo Higuain and the departure of Alvaro Morata to Atletico Madrid.

Argentina international Higuain spent the first-half of this season on loan at AC Milan but is expected to jet into London on Friday to complete his loan move to the Blues.

Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement with Juventus for the loan of Gonzalo Higuain until the end of the season with an option to extend for a further year.

The extension in the loan deal will be triggered if the 31-year-old striker reaches a certain amount of appearances and goals for Chelsea.

On the other hand, Morata is close to a move away from Chelsea, and according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, the Chelsea striker has reached a personal agreement to join Atletico Madrid.

Maurizio Sarri will definitely be happy to reunite with Higuain who was a scoring machine during their time at Napoli.

Sarri said of Higuain: “It was perfect synchronicity and the regrets will probably stick with us. I miss Higuain a great deal. I miss him because he’ll keep scoring goals until the day he dies. He is a goal machine, a systematic and automatic jackpot.”

Reports also claim Chelsea are making progress on a £31m deal for Leandro Paredes, the Argentine midfielder who has impressed for Zenit Saint Petersburg over the past two years.
