Tuchel to get dream transfer signing after Pep gives Chelsea green light to seal £100m+ deal

Pep Guardiola has opened the door for Chelsea to try and sign Tottenham striker Harry Kane this summer window

Chelsea could lose Olivier Giroud, who is continuing to attract transfer interest from Inter Milan amid uncertainty over his Blues future.

And Tammy Abraham is widely expected to leave west London behind after falling down Tuchel’s pecking order last term, failing to even make the squad for the FA Cup final defeat to Leicester.

Thomas Tuchel steered his team to Champions League glory last term, winning the prize a year after losing the final to Bayern Munich with Paris Saint-Germain, and he’s made a new striker his main aim for the summer transfer window.

Kane was a shining light for Spurs amid a difficult campaign under Jose Mourinho and Ryan Mason last term, scoring 23 goals and registering 14 assists from 35 Premier League matches.

Manchester City have already reportedly made their move to try and get a deal done, but that bid was rejected and City will have to pay over £120 million to try and sign Kane this summer

However, £100m+ transfers are going to be tricky for any club this summer – and manager Pep Guardiola has hinted that perhaps his side won’t sign anyone at all.

“I imagine that if we want to sign a Barca or Madrid player for 100 million or so, Barca and Madrid will not complain,” he told Spanish TV.

“I don’t know how the market will end. I don’t know what we can do because many times you want to do things that are not possible.

“What we can do, we will do and if we do not we continue with the squad we have, with which we have won three Leagues in four years, we have finally reached a Champions League final.”
