Update: Return date for Ziyech and Gilmour Confirmed!

Chelsea players Hakim Ziyech and Billy Gilmour are yet to feature for the Blues this season due to injuries, and the duo are expected to play a big part in Frank Lampard’s team this season.

Besides Antonio Rudiger who hasn’t played for the team this season, the only other two yet to feature are Ziyech and Gilmour. Christian Pulisic was in that list before, but he played in our last league game against Crystal Palace, coming on as a late sub.

Ziyech has been training with the Chelsea team for weeks, and has been called up to the Moroccan squad for their upcoming friendly games.

Ziyech will feature for the Blues when the International break is over, with Chelsea playing host to Southampton on October 17. Ziyech will most likely be introduced from the bench for his debut game.

“Ziyech is getting closer but not close enough to be on the bench,” Lampard last said of the Moroccan star. “I think they will all bring the best out of each other.

“It’s a shame we haven’t had them. Hakim will bring something completely different for us.

“I am very excited to have them fit. “I have a clear idea of where I want them to play.”

Billy Gilmour is also making good progress following a knee surgery, and is expected to return in two weeks after the International break.

“He is progressing well,” Lampard confirmed. “It was forecast as a four-month injury when he went into surgery, so we are looking at about four weeks from now that he will hopefully be fit, barring any hiccups.

“It has been a difficult injury. His attitude and everything he approaches in his professional life is spot on so he hopefully should be four weeks. “He will be an important member of the squad at that point.

“We all know his breakthrough last year and what he gave to the group and we hope to see much more of that.”
