What now for Chelsea?: Arsenal is ‘very close’ to announce the signing of Chelsea’s target

Arsenal is closing towards their first signing of the summer. The Gunners are set to win the race in signing the highly-rated PSG defender Layvin Kurzawa. The player is set to move to the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer this summer.

Layvin Kurzawa was a long-term target for the Gunners. The Reports say, he has agreed to join on a free transfer once his contract with the Ligue 1 champions expires at the end of the campaign.

A host of European clubs were chasing Kurzawa with the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona also looking to make a move for him in the summer. For a short while, La Liga side Barcelona were the favorites to land him.

Now as per reports, the Gunners have almost agreed on a five-year deal with the player. This signifies they finally have a proper backup plan at the left-back after playing Bukayo Saka in that role for most of this season.

Arsenal is less than a step away from completing the transfer. Hence, this is a serious cause of concern for Chelsea.

If Arsenal will get their hands on this deal. Then surely it will be bad news for Frank Lampard as the Chelsea boss was dead set to sign a new left-back during the summer.

The Blues could lose Emerson at the end of the season. The other option 29-year-old Marcos Alonso is also not at the top of his game. During such time, Layvin Kurzawa is the perfect solution to all left-back problems.

Now when Gunners have reportedly outplayed Chelsea in snatching him away. The Blues will have to move the focus to players like Ben Chilwell and Alex Telles. But both the players have massive price tags on them.
