Why Sarri Needs To Change Chelsea’s Horrible Form At Newcastle

No team is infallible or invincible regardless of its wealth or quality of players. Two decades it was hard to imagine Bournemouth getting a result against Chelsea, or even Brighton beating Manchester United.

This was unthinkable because the financial gap between the big clubs and the small clubs was so great. But in recent times, things have changes and the playing field seems to have been levelled. The financial gains from huge TV deals have helped the small clubs to close the gap.

The effect of this can be seen from the last transfer window in which Fulham became the first promoted club to spend about 100m pounds on new players. This balance is creating a more competitive league where the small teams have now turned into bogey teams and giant killers.

For Chelsea, a visit to Newcastle’s St. James Park doesn’t bring much fond memories. The home of the Geordies and Toon Army has been a poor hunting ground for the team.

According to the stats, Chelsea has won just 3 times in our last 12 meetings away to Newcastle, counting back from the 2004/05 season till date. This is a record Sarri must change to increase our chances of maintaining our 100% start to the season.

The fact Newcastle are being managed by former Blues boss, Rafael Benitez will serve as motivation to his players to get one over Chelsea again after doing so last season.

It’s time for Chelsea to set the record straight with a winning run over Newcastle starting with a bang this weekend. Let’s keep the blue flag flying high. Cheers!
