AS Roma planning surprise move for £100,000-a-week Chelsea forward

Giallorossi have reportedly made contact with the Blues over Pedro Rodriguez, as they could potentially make a move for the winger before the transfer deadline. Spain international has found playing time hard to come by so far this campaign, as he has been limited to only 12 matches across all tournaments.

Having featured in just two Premier League matches since October, question marks could perhaps be raised over his future at London club, especially considering his current deal expires this summer, and so Blues will surely want to avoid losing him for nothing.

There could be a solution for all sides before the end of this month though, as Serie A giants have contacted Chelsea over Pedro.

Roma are also being tipped to complete a €13m move for Barcelona winger Carles Perez this week, as they look to add reinforcements to Paulo Fonseca’s squad.

While there is no suggestion that an agreement is close over a deal or that talks are progressing, it would look as though the Italian club are at least interested in the idea of a possible swoop before the deadline and so it stays to be seen whether or not things advance.

It comes after Nicolo Zaniolo suffered a severe injury earlier this month, and so while they continue to battle for a top-four finish in Serie A this campaign to secure a Champions League qualification spot, any signings in winter could be decisive.

With the experience and quality that Rodriguez possesses, he could be an invaluable addition to the squad. That said if Carles joins coupled with the likes of Cengiz Under, Diego Perotti, Nikola Kalinic, Javier Pastore, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Justin Kluivert already being in the squad.
