Petr Cech makes disappointing return to Chelsea goal post as Chelsea U23s beat Tottenham

Chelsea legend Petr Cech made his first appearance in 19 months as he featured in a Premier League 2 match for Chelsea.

The 38-year-old manned the goal post in a Premier League 2 game against Tottenham u23 side, with Chelsea ending the game as winners.

Cech is registered in Frank Lampard’s Premier League squad and consequently needs game time to ensure he’s still up to speed.

Cech was in goal in place of Lucas Bergstrom, who played for the Under-18 side on Saturday and Chelsea do not want the Finn playing two games in the space of 48 hours.

Within twenty minutes of action, Cech had already conceded two goals, as the former Czech international didn’t start the game in bright form. Firstly, his first touch was poor as he tried to play out from the back, rather sending the ball for a corner.
