22-year-old Chelsea star surprised Pochettino it training after ‘outrageous’ goal ahead of Newcastle clash

Chelsea coaches were left amazed at a goal scored by one of their attackers during training this week.

A video posted on the club’s official Twitter page shows Armando Broja scoring a fantastic goal as the players continue to prepare for the return of the Premier League.

Broja has endured a rough campaign when it comes to injuries, with him only making a handful of appearances this season.

He scored in his first start back against Fulham earlier this season, however he was soon back on the sidelines.

It was not until the last league game before the international break for when he was able to make an impact again against Manchester City.

Brought on as a late sub, he won the last-minute penalty which Cole Palmer converted with outrageous composure.

Broja scores great goal in training

While he has been recovering, he has had to watch his rival for a place in the side begin to find the net more regularly.

Nicolas Jackson has four goals in his last two games against Tottenham and City, and has surely put himself at the forefront of Mauricio Pochettino’s thinking when it comes to who should start up front in the coming weeks.

Broja meanwhile will be hoping that the manager was watching during training this week, when he scored a fantastic goal

He brought the ball down from a long pass, before turning and scoring in one seamless movement from a tight angle.

With the fixtures set to come thick and fast in the festive period, there will certainly be opportunities for Broja to prove that he should be the first choice at Stamford Bridge.

This comes as reports continue to link the club with the signing of a top striker either in January or at the end of the season.
