22-year-old Chelsea star to hold talks to Mauricio Pochettino about his Chelsea future
Journalist Rahman Osman has claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is going to hold talks with Callum Hudson-Odoi over his future at Chelsea.
He took to Twitter to announce that the winger still has plenty of Premier League interest in him this summer if he doesn’t remain at Stamford Bridge.
This season was the opportunity for Hudson-Odoi to prove himself away from the club, with him enjoying a spell on loan in the Bundesliga.
He will have seen the success of the likes of Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham out in Germany and will have been hoping for a similar success when he made the move.
Things did not go to plan however, and he was soon left out of the squad by new manager Xabi Alonso in the second half of the season.
Pochettino to talk to Hudson-Odoi
It would be easy to imagine that this would spell the end of his career at Chelsea, with him not having the requisite opportunities to prove himself to those that he needed to this season.
However, Osman has claimed he will be having a conversation with Pochettino over any sort of potential future in West London.
He said: “Understand Callum Hudson-Odoi will hold talks with Pochettino before making his next move. A lot of Premier League interest including Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace. Might be the biggest summer of his life after the disappointment in Germany.”
Opportunities are likely still going to be scarce for the 22-year-old when he returns to England, given the club’s recent investment in the wide areas.
January saw them add Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke to their ranks, with the expectation being they will be stars of the future, ultimately making things a lot more difficult for the Cobham graduate.
