£54M winger has insisted that he wants Chelsea transfer deal done this summer
Christian Pulisic has suggested he wants to leave Chelsea, insisting he needs to ‘play and be trusted’ at club level.
Chelsea now face the prospect of trimming Mauricio Pochettino’s squad ahead of next season and Pulisic is among the players who have been linked with a move away this summer.
The American star was hailed as the next big thing during his time with Borussia Dortmund – but it has not worked out for him at Chelsea and he is now being linked with a move away.
The USA star scored 11 goals in his first season at Chelsea but his contributions have gradually fallen away since then, with Pulisic starting just eight league games last term.
The 24-year-old says he ‘needs to figure out what’s best for my career’ but has suggested he has already decided to leave in search of more game-time.
‘It’s absolutely a time where I need to figure out what’s going to be best for my future and be somewhere where I can go and play and be trusted and feel good in what I’m doing,’ Pulisic told ESPN.
‘I want to find that joy at club level again, for sure.’
The USA international has attracted interest from Italy, with AC Milan one of the clubs interested and La Gazzeta dello Sport claim that he would be happy to move to the San Siro.
The Blues have reportedly set a £21million price tag for their winger who they paid £54 million to sign.
